“Star Trek: Discovery” was the first series from Gene Roddenberry’s universe created after the end of “Star Trek: Enterprise”. Following the success of the first season, subsequent “Treks” were made – “Star Trek: Picard” and, I think the best of the three, “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds”. From April 5 on SkyShowtime we will see the fifth and final season of “Discovery”.
“Captain Burnham and the crew of the USS Discovery discover the secret that begins their next spectacular journey through the galaxy. This time they will be searching for an ancient power whose existence has been hidden for centuries. However, in this search they have competition – dangerous enemies, desperate for the same power and ready to do anything to get it,” we read in the official description.
In this series, “Star Wars” star Ewan McGregor plays Count Alexander Rostov, who “he found himself on the wrong side of history“. Locked in a hotel that is, as it were, his prison, he builds “a new life, learns the true value of friendship, family and love” – we read in the production description. McGregor’s on-screen partner is Mary Elizabeth Winstead – an actress who has played roles in such productions. such as “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”, “Fargo”, “Ahsoka”, “Kate”, “Birds of Prey”. In private life, she is Ewan’s wife.
The series was based on the novel “The Apple Falls Far Away” by Liane Moriarty. As the production description says, “it is the story of the seemingly perfect Delaney family. Former coaches Stan (Sam Neill) and Joy (Annette Bening) have just sold their renowned tennis school and are ready to enter the golden autumn of their lives. When Joy unexpectedly disappears one day, her children must look into the so-called his parents’ perfect marriage – this time as dark family secrets come to light. The series will star a galaxy of stars, including Oscar nominee Annette Bening. The remaining roles are played by Sam Neill, Alison Brie, Jake Lacy.
In April, the latest episodes of the series “Mary & George” will also be available on the platform.
