Viewers around the world are excited about the adventures of the heroes of productions such as “Heritage”, “The Golden Boy” or “Forbidden Fruit”. Over the last few years, the earnings of Turkish TV series stars have increased by almost 100 percent.
The differences in how much the actors of “Magnificent Century” received per episode in 2014 and how much their colleagues from the production of “The Golden Boy” from 2022 are huge. Turkish series attract viewers with their impressive costumes and interior design, engaging network of intrigues and red-hot emotions. Producers also make sure that the actors they cast stand out for their charisma and beauty. They are almost heroes in their country.
The amounts that actors earn in Turkey for participating in domestic productions are no secret. They were recently revealed by journalist Müge Dagestanli. How much do the stars of Turkish series earn according to her information?
- Afra Saraçoglu, actress of the series “Golden Boy” – 500 thousand lire per episode, i.e. 60 thousand. zloty;
- Mert Ramazan Demir, who plays Ferito in “The Golden Boy” – 400 thousand PLN lire per episode, approx. 50 thousand zloty;
- Sıla Türkoğlu, Seher from the series “Heritage” – 150 thousand lire per episode, i.e. 18 thousand. zloty;
- Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ “Family” – 1.5 million lira per episode, or PLN 184,000. zlotys;
- Serenay Sarikaya Devin from the series “Family” – 1.2 million lire per episode, which is 147,000. zlotys;
- Demet Özdemir “My name is Farah” – 650 thousand lire per episode, which is 80 thousand. zlotys;
- Engin Akyürek, actor from “My Name is Farah” – 650 thousand lire per episode, which is 80 thousand. zlotys;
- Demet Özdemir “Dream Love” – 100 thousand lire, approx. 12 thousand zloty;
- Can Yaman “Dream Love” – 100 thousand lire, approx. 12 thousand zloty;
- Cansu Dere “The Magnificent Century”, “Ezel” – 150 thousand lire per episode, i.e. 18 thousand. zlotys;
- Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ “Meanders of Feelings”, “Empire of Love” – 200 thousand lire per episode 24 thousand zloty;
- Halit Ergenç, Suleiman from the series “Magnificent Century” – 250 thousand lire per episode, approx. 30 thousand zlotys;
- Pınar Deniz, series “Yargi” – 700 thousand lire per episode, approx. PLN 85,000;
- Kaan Urgancıoğlu series “Yargi” – 700 thousand lire per episode, approx. PLN 85,000.
As you can see, the rule is simple – the newer the series, the higher the stakes. Interestingly, stars playing lead roles often earn similarly regardless of gender. There are also situations when an actress earns more than her partner. For comparison, the biggest Polish stars earn several thousand zlotys per day of shooting.
The stars of Turkish series earn more and more every year. Their incomes are usually given in amounts per episode, so if we want to know the full monthly totals, the given rates should be multiplied by four. This amounts to staggering amounts. Actors playing in TV series in Turkey are treated almost like demigods. Their appearance in public space causes euphoria. They collect considerable amounts of money for participating in public events and promotions. Some of them also work on television, hosting various programs.
The growing worldwide popularity of Bosphorus productions brings international fame to the actors. Record holders can boast several million followers on Instagram. For comparison – the stars of Polish productions have several hundred thousand of them, and they still earn more there than playing on the small screen. Stars of Turkish series also earn money by promoting various products and services on their social media.
