Rebecca Ferguson on the hit Apple TV+. What do we know about the second season of “Silos”

“Silos” is a post-apocalyptic story presenting the fate of a handful of humanity who, as a result of the destruction and poisoning of the planet's surface, are forced to live in a gigantic silo that extends deep underground. In this dystopia, the inhabitants who survived are told that strong restrictions are always introduced with their well-being in mind.. Rebecca Ferguson plays the role of Juliette – an engineer who takes over the sheriff's office and soon discovers a dangerous plot. The series is an adaptation of the “Silos” trilogy by Hugh Howey.

In an interview for Collider, the Swedish actress reveals that the ending is almost ready, and work on the third and fourth seasons will – most likely – continue at the same time. Additionally, filming for the second season has already been completed and its premiere will take place after the remaining post-production tasks are completed.

Deciding on such Ferguson argues for simultaneous work for the good of the fans and the desire to provide them with another portion of entertainment as quickly as possible. “I think that's the plan and I think because the request for it is so demanding, which is amazing, it's about giving people what they want so that we don't have too much of a gap. But everything changes. It's about feeling time. It's about what works. What's next.”

I like this focus on the recipient, but at the same time I wonder what will be the final effect and will such haste not lead to the last seasons looking as if they were made a bit haphazardly?. The actress herself states that it is a demanding task: “you have to understand that you then have 20 episodes, you can have five different directors, and we as actors are jumping around. Nothing follows each other. So it is very tiring for us and for the directors. But in we also did season 2 this way. In one day I shot three different episodes with three different directors“.

In this case, we will have the opportunity to see a foretaste of this block production system soon. While waiting for the next seasons, you can watch the first one, which is available on the Apple TV+ platform.
