The action of the series “Matilda” takes place in the Lublin region, several years after the end of the January Uprising. The main character, Matylda Bilińska, is the daughter of a former insurgent, a wealthy landowner who was exiled to Siberia. Young, 18-year-old Matylda, does not accept the passive role of women in the society of that time. She wants live life to the fullest and fight for her ideals. In a picturesque estate in the countryside, where she took refuge after escaping from boarding school, she experiences her first love and faces danger.
