Although they actually met only as adults, they had a childhood connection because Zenon’s uncle worked in a company owned by Danuta’s father. The first real interaction took place on June 13, 1987, during a church fair in honor of Saint. Anthony of Padua organized in Grabowiec. While performing on stage, Martyniuk saw Danuta in the crowd and fell in love almost immediately. In the program “Question for breakfast” he mentioned this special moment: “I played and sang on stage. I asked my friend to approach a girl and tell her that I liked her. It started with a lie
From the musician’s autobiography titled “Life is about moments” it appears that because of the series TVP about Jerzy Kalibabka started the trend of introducing oneself with false names. This is what Zenek decided to do, and he introduced himself to his future wife as Krystian. Danuta was aware of the star’s actual name, but she decided to continue playing his role and spent the first evening with him as Kinga.
Only the next day the couple admitted their real names, but Zenek had to face another serious problem. It was about the musician’s then partner, Joanna. In his autobiography, Martyniuk revealed that for a long time he was unable to decide which partner to marry, but in the end he chose Danuta.
Controversy surrounding Danuta and Zenek Martyniuk
Their relationship turned out to be very stormy. They broke up many times only to come back together a moment later. After less than two years, Zenek decided to propose to his partner. In an interview with “Fact” Danuta mentioned that she was very happy about it: “He proposed to me two months before the ceremony. When he pulled out the ring and asked if I wanted to be his wife, I felt great.”
However, the problem turned out to be Polish law, which prohibited men under 21 from marrying. Martyniuk had to ask the court for permission to marry his partner. Finally, the young star received consent, and the couple got married on February 4, 1989.
On August 1, 1989, the young couple’s only son was born, Danielwho, as Martyniuk himself admitted, was pampered on his part, and Danuta was responsible for a tough upbringing. Arguments at home most often occurred over the mess the star left behind. This particularly bothered my wife, but in an interview for “Have a good week” the musician explained that they face all problems together: “Me and Danusia are, as I say, older people. We prefer to repair things rather than throw them away, and that’s what many people do nowadays. I think that’s one of the things that keeps us together. (…) Before we got married, we decided that we wanted to go through life as a married couple. I hope it stays that way until I die.”
For many years, Danuta avoided appearing in public. In 2019, due to the loud divorce of Daniel’s son, Ewelina Golczyńska she appeared in the media and since then she has been regularly giving interviews and appearing on television.
For a long time, Zenek was accused of betrayal. However, this did not destroy the relationship with his partner, and the singer himself said in an interview for “Your Empire” he noted that he had always been loyal to his wife: “I never gave my wife reasons to be jealous, although it happened that malicious people suggested that God knows what I was doing at these concerts. And the truth is that I’m so focused on these performances that I don’t even notice the dancers on stage.
Problems with Zenek Martyniuk’s son
Recently, Zenek’s 35-year-old son, Daniel Martyniuk, has caused considerable controversy, as he insulted his father on his Instagram and accused him of not giving him money. Danuta Martyniuk commented on the whole situation in an interview with “Fakt” and suggested that she did not want to maintain a close relationship with her son: “I’m afraid to answer the phone because I think it’s Daniel calling with some screams and insults. (…) We’re betting. give him an ultimatum: either he goes to treatment, or we completely distance ourselves from him and break off contacts. There will be no more forgiveness. Daniel’s partner, Faustyna Martyniuk, responded to this and did not spare harsh words in an interview for “Boxes” and called Danuta a “toxic woman”.
