At the end of March this year, it was revealed that work is underway on the next series embedded in the world “Yellowstone”. The universe created by Taylor Sheridan is to be expanded to include production in which the main character will be Kayce Dutton (Luke Gimes). The series will be entitled “Y: Marshals”.
Luke Gimes was sure that the story of his character would end with the final “Yellowstone”. He did not expect a spin-off.
“I thought it was my last day as Kayce. It was the end for me,” he said in an interview with People. “It was for me seven years of playing a character that I would never see again. I only had his hat and jacket in the closet. Only probably three or four months later the topic of spin -off appeared” – he added.
Spin-off is to continue the threads from the original series, but in the new situation and with new characters, which is a big challenge for the actor. “There will be several known faces, but there will also be many new ones, so we’ll see how it will all look like,” he revealed.
New details were revealed about the anticipated spin-off “Yellowstone”. In the thirteen -episode series “Y: Marshals” Kayce Dutton joins the elite US Marshals unit, combining the experience of Kowboj and the former commando Navy Seal to do justice on the border of Montana. He and his companions have to reconcile family life with professional duties and face a huge mental burden – we read in the official description.
So far, Luke Gimes is the only confirmed cast. It is not yet known whether Brecken Merrill (Tate) and Kelsey Asbillle (Monica) will return to their roles. Spencer Hudnut is the showrunner and executive producer. Taylor Sheridan is not directly involved in the project.
