“The Bourne Identity” directed by Doug Liman opens the saga of Jason Bourne. This series redefined action cinema, combining spectacular scenes with intelligent intrigue and psychological depth of characters. “The Bourne Identity” inspired many other films and series to introduce more realistic fight and chase scenes.
The main character is a mysterious man (played by Matt Damon), caught by fishermen from the sea. Severely injured and without memory, he has no documents with him, and the only clue to his past is his Swiss bank account number hidden in a chip implanted under his skin. He quickly discovers that he has extraordinary fighting skills, rapid reaction and orientation in dangerous situations. He begins a journey to regain his own identity, but soon finds himself in the middle of an international intelligence game where his life is at stake.
He is his on-screen partner Frank Potente as Marie – a woman who accidentally gets drawn into Bourne’s dangerous story. They also star Chris Cooper, Clive Owen, as well as Brian Cox and Julia Stiles.
“The Bourne Identity” is not only an action movie – it is also a story about a man who, in search of the truth, must face his fears and secrets hidden in the past. Interestingly, initially the film was not considered a hit, but over time it gained the status of a cult action film.
The film “The Bourne Identity” will be broadcast today, January 11, on the Polsat Film channel at 9:00 p.m.
