Entering the Presir Arena, it was already known what to expect. Merch and albums related to the classic stream of Polish rap greeted us from a distance. During a conversation with the organizers, I said that it was a hip-hop festival with the highest average age among all such events in Poland. This is amazing when we have been in a commercial success of urban music for several years, but you come to concerts in which it is rather difficult to see people under the age of thirty. Which of course is associated with the fact that there were people on the stage where these recipients grew up.
The godparents of the Polish hip-hop at the same price
After warm -up DJ HWR-A He entered the stage just after 18:00 Liroy. It is worth recalling that Piotr Marzec He debuted under this nickname in 1995 – times when a significant part of today’s rap fans have not yet been born. A short, but dynamic, filled with bap performance showed that in terms of energy, Piotr does not give way to much younger colleagues who could be a father. And when he started playing “Pocket knife”in which he left a lot of space to add to the audience, it was already known that he never lost this energy.
After his barely 20-minute concert, Liroy announced his next, much longer performance in Katowice, the premiere of the biographical film (already on March 21 in cinemas!), Then he invited to the stage DJ-A 600V – A person who, like Liroy, is often called the godfather of the Polish hip-hop. He decided on a rather unusual performance. He began his set by playing fragments of the most classic bits like “I knew it would be like that” Whether “Stereo sounds”then began to tell the story. This had the form of a mini -release, during which he presented his path, as a producer – from sampling, to composing his own songs, and then sampling the songs he composed to get a similar effect as on his first albums. Thanks to this, the audience, which may not realize that 600V is still a very fertile and active artist, had the opportunity to learn about his latest funk, jazz and rap work.
Number once, FU and Pono: Warsaw veterans in form
Shortly afterwards on stage in the company DJ Eproma and Three.50 also appeared Number time. His concert was a distribution of all his career, in which there were such songs like “Do you remember how?”, “Music, blunt, sweets” Whether “Bench, boys from blocks” from the album Z DJ zero. It was felt that the number once knew exactly what he was doing on the stage and what the audience could particularly shoot – for a guy who always liked to stand more in the background, unusual charisma and hip -hop beat him. Most importantly, a song from the upcoming album also had its test in front of the audience, which premieres in September. Given the form of rapper and his companions, it is worth waiting.
Concert FU It was the only opportunity at this festival to hear … a violin live. Initially, the rapper performed on the stage with Burningwho served as his hypeman. What is the most interesting from the perspective of participants, the filmed video will be used on the occasion of the clip for the number promoting the next edition of the event.
Monkey He could seem a bit from the cap due to the less internship on the stage than other rappers. In the end, he was a representative who stood out when the first wave of commercial hip-hop interest we had already had behind us, and the official publishing houses were experiencing an impasse in this respect. And yet it was immediately felt that it does not make him give his place on the stage to someone else. The rapper who recently played the route on the occasion of the publishing jubilee “Several numbers about something” He hit the song from the very beginning “I was supposed to quit it” And … fortunately he didn’t throw it. The Legend Festival: The most important thing is to have a team with you
Unfortunately, due to the arranged interviews, I was not able to see on the stage JWP. It’s a pity, because it is one of those bands that never disappoints with its pure hip-hop teaser. The concert ended Hemp Gru And … it was just an interesting event. I admit that despite the years of stuck in the music industry, despite the fact that all my interest in music began more than 20 years ago with rap, I have never had the opportunity to see HEmp Gru live before. And the collectivism of this team was noticeable in every place. Wilku WDZ, BALON and Żary They did not only conduct a dialogue with the audience, but also with each other, they fueled each other and even if there were trips, forgetting the lines, it was in this to feel unity, loyalty and brotherhood heard in mutual responsibility, helping yourself.
Until an internal psychologist launched in me, who noticed how much mutual presence must mean to them. And from the perspective of the listeners, of course, there were total classics like “Eat turn” or ending the concert “This is it”. Looking at how much people could be seen among the audience in HG or Dil Gang T -shirts, I am fully aware of how much they attracted listeners.
The 3rd edition of The Legend Festival was a really interesting event. I doubt that there are other places where you can hear so many artists at which the generation of today’s thirty or forty-year-olds grew up. I did not think that I would ever hear some of the presented songs in my life live. When I got into the hip-hop scene, seeing the artists from Kielce, Poznań and Warsaw at the same time could also be something unusual. Today we are all mature, adults, and life is invariably surprising. What I felt definitely was the fact that on March 15 in the President Arena in Gliwice, everyone was beating in the rhythm of 90 strokes per second.
