– I love to be a debutant, although at the same time I want to achieve as much as possible. I gave up playing in Heyu And I hung Indios Bravos Not because I have something against comfortable life, that I don’t want to be famous and rich. Known brands provide comfort, but music loses some comfort on this comfort. The transition to professionalism threatens to fall into a routine, playing by heart, and because the music stands with emotions, when these give way to places of learned behavior, something ends. I am a professional in the sense that I make a living from playing, but in the approach to music I want to remain an amateur, because it always means a passion for common sense – he said Piotr Banach In an interview with Interia.
Piotr Banach started with a trombone
Born on March 5, 1965 in Szczecin, a future musician in the school orchestra tried his hand at … trombone. His first inspirations were groups The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Deep Purple. In the early 1980s, he took his first more serious steps as a drummer in the bands Paragraph 4, criterion (he completed a performance at the Jarocin festival in 1985), Grass and Kumander. He was in the team for two years for two years Collaboratorswith which he registered the first demo cassettes. Already as a guitarist he took part in the recording of the debut album “Or is it me?” (1990).
In the same year, Banach founded a group Pridein which she sang Katarzyna Nosowskalater singer Hey. Dum Dum survived for two years, and Banach’s next formation in Banach’s life was Hey. With this team he was the most successful (debut album “Fire” of 1993, it spread in the circulation of over 400,000, which then gave him the status of a quadruple platinum).
Such well -known hits like this album as “Jealousy”, “My and your hope” (Recommended in the Netflix series “Great Water”),, “Texński” Whether “Dreams”. The author of the music is Piotr Banachmost of the texts wrote Katarzyna Nosowska (apart from “You’ll see” – it’s a poem Edward Stachura and “38” with a bass player Marek “Bruno” Chrzanowskiolder brother Jacek Chrzanowskibassist Heya).
In the early 1990s, Hey was one of the most popular bands on the Polish rock scene. The plates in the official circulation were distributed in several hundred thousand, not counting the “pirates”.
After releasing four more studio albums – “Ho!” (1994), “?” (1995), “Karma” (1997) I “Hey” (1997) – Piotr Banach decided to leave the band Hey. Earlier, he helped Kaśka Nosowska with the solo debut – kept in more electronic climates “Puk.puk” (1996) with a hit “If you know what I want to say”used in the film “Street Games” by Krzysztof Krauze.
– There were several reasons for my departure: general disappointment show business (youthful ideals and imaginations fell in confrontation with reality), tension in the team (I got used to it, because they have been with us for years, but then their accumulation took place), my own identity crises and something that I would call an evolutionary imperty – later explained the guitarist who has not been in contact with Kaśka Nosowska for several years.
Piotr Banach and pulsation reggae. He played with Indios Bravos almost everywhere
The end of the 90s is a return to reggae inspirations, initially under the banner Banach & Indios Bravos. The team became another debut in the guitarist’s life Baikahe created with the singer Katarzyna “Kafi” Figaj (also plays on keyboard and percussion instruments) – they create a pair not only on stage, but also in private life.
