“Duel”, dir. Łukasz Palkowski
“Duel” is a story presented on a grand scale about characters whom the viewer immediately sympathizes with and follows their fate with bated breath. It is also a story about Russian torturers who – in the context of events in the modern world – only change the type of uniform, but not their methods. The film characters are based on real officers and soldiers whose drama began after September 17, 1939 – in times when humanity was put to the hardest test.
The Russian attack on Poland in September 1939 led to the first mass attempt to indoctrinate thousands of representatives of the Polish elite. “Duel” reaches for the untold part of Poland’s history, and Łukasz Palkowski, the author of the successful, among others, film “Gods”, presents it with his characteristic authenticity, pace and energy.
“We had the ambition to show what is not common knowledge. Why did the Russians imprison the Polish elite for 6 months? What was happening then and what was the goal? Did the Russians achieve this goal?” – said Palkowski.
“Duel” will hit theaters on February 27, 2026.
“There are no ghosts in the apartment on Dobra Street”, dir. Emi Buchwald
“There are no ghosts in the apartment on Dobra” is about four siblings living in Warsaw. The oldest, Jana (Karolina Rzepa), is working on an artistic project that is supposed to smooth out the relationship between brothers and sisters. The middle teenager (Izabella Dudziak) tries so hard to help everyone that she neglects her love life. Her twin Franek (Tymoteusz “Szczyl” Rożynek) struggles with a toxic relationship with his girlfriend and problems with illegal substances. In turn, the sensitive Benek (Bartłomiej Deklewa), the youngest of the four, cannot come to terms with the fact that his older brother is cutting himself off from him. In addition, he begins to be haunted by a malicious ghost that keeps him awake at night.
The film debuted in the Main Competition of the 50th Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia, where it received the Journalists’ Award, as well as competition awards for directing by Emi Buchwald, making her debut in a full-length film, and for the supporting performance by Karolina Rzepa.
“I wanted my film to combine roughness and often difficult topics with elements that are actually warm and uplifting in some sense. It leaves a lot of space for the viewer to interpret and settle in this world. It is quite hermetic, but I hope it is also universal,” said the director in an interview with Interia.
“There are no ghosts in the apartment on Dobra” will hit theaters on March 13, 2026.

“The Doll”, dir. Maciej Kawalski
The long-awaited adaptation of Bolesław Prus’s novel will hit Polish cinema screens in 2026. “The book was created as a popular novel, for people, and yet it has stood the test of time and for over 135 years it has captivated both the mass audience and literary scholars and novelists. And this is my dream of a film – attractive, for people, thrilling, heartbreaking. A film that you want to come back to,” assured Kawalski, who in 2022 delighted the audience with “Dangerous Gentlemen”, an unusual crime comedy.
In its production, Stanisław Wokulski and Izabela Łęcka will be played by Marcin Dorociński and Kamila Urzędowska. In the remaining roles we will see a galaxy of stars. Ignacy Rzecki was played by Marek Kondrat, for whom this is a return from acting retirement. Additionally, the film will star Krystyna Janda (Countess Joanna Karolowa, Łęcki’s sister), Andrzej Seweryn (Tomasz Łęcki), Agata Kulesza (Mrs. Meliton), Maja Komorowska (President Zasławska), Cezary Żak (Baron Dalski), Maria Dębska (Kazimiera Wąsowska), Karolina Gruszka (Florentyna), Mateusz Damięcki (Kazimierz Starski), Filip Pławiak (Julian Ochocki), Dawid Ogrodnik (assistant Mraczewski), Maciej Musiałowski (Maruszewicz), Andrzej Chyra (professor Geist) and Maciej Stuhr (Michał Szuman).
“Doll” will hit theaters on September 30, 2026.
“Woodpecker and Violetta”, dir. Karolina Bielawska
In 2026, we will see the long-awaited biography of Violetta Villas. Karolina Bielawska’s project was announced in 2016. The script of “Dięcioł i Violetta”, co-authored by Bielawska and Małgorzata Gospodarek (the artist’s daughter-in-law), will show Villas’ life from the perspective of her son Krzysztof. In July 2022, it was announced that the role of the singer went to Sandra Drzymalska, winner of the award for the main role in “White Courage” during the 49th Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia.
Work was delayed due to the impressive budget that the creators had to raise. “There is no way that the scenes from Las Vegas, where Villas spent a large part of her life, would be shot in Poland. This is supposed to be top-class cinema. We say no to trash. Please also remember about the clothes she appeared in. Recreating them will be extremely expensive,” wrote “Super Express”, citing reports from a person from the film’s production.

“Wild, Wild East”, dir. Jan Holoubek
Share “Wild, Wild East” takes place in the occupied territories in 1943. The main character is a German official, Martin Wolff, who comes to a small village to explain the mystery of the disappearance of a Jewish lawyer. His appearance disrupts the fragile order existing between terrified locals, collaborators and the Nazi authorities. Upon learning about the lawyer’s fortune, greed and betrayal come to the fore. Wolff’s investigation reveals the village’s darkest secrets.
“The script has been created for years, but its subject matter seems more current than ever. Hate has not disappeared. It always returns and changes with each generation. The core of our history is the cycle of violence and the need to oppose it,” Holoubek said.
For the director, this is another ambitious project in his career. Holoubek was previously responsible for the acclaimed series “Rojst”, “Wielka Woda” and “Heweliusz”. He is the winner of the Eagle, a Polish film award, for directing “25 Years of Innocence. The Case of Tomek Komenda” and an award at the 48th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia for directing the film “Doppelgänger. Doppelgänger”.
“Łkome”, dir. Jagoda Szelc
“Łakome” is Jagoda Szelc’s return to the big screens after the famous debut “Tower. A Bright Day” from 2017. “My film is an adaptation of Małgorzata Lebda’s book, which inspired me to create a story about bodies and their natural entanglement. I wanted to oppose prudish representations of women’s corporeality and nature, showing them in their raw, non-romantic form. The film is about birth, death and transformation – without biological hierarchies, showing life in all its manifestations,” said the director for Łukasz Maciejewski.
The film will focus on Maul, who returns to her hometown to take care of her dying grandmother. This will become an excuse for her to confront the past and build a bond with the surrounding wildlife. We will see Izabella Dudziak in the main role. The remaining roles will be played by Małgorzata Trofimiuk and Cezary Żak.

“Our revolution. The love story of Grażyna and Jacek Kuronia”, dir. Piotr Domalewski
Photos for “Our revolution. The love story of Grażyna and Jacek Kuronia” started in August 2025. The title characters were played by Magdalena Popławska and Arkadiusz Jakubik. Behind the camera was Piotr Domalewski – the creator of the Golden Lion-winning “Silent Night” and “The Altar Boys”.
“I was stressed until I entered the set, but when we started shooting, I let it go. I put on Kuroń’s shoes, but they were made to my size. I don’t try to imitate him or recreate his characteristics. For me, as an actor, the most important thing is the human being and his emotions – and therefore the viewer. That’s why my film Kuroń will not be a monument. I don’t want to talk about him on my knees, but show him as a man of flesh and blood, with all his weaknesses. And at the same time – as a historical figure, the father of Polish freedom – he remains for me an authority and a hero of my times,” Jakubik said about his role.
“Gajka was unique – without her, his story could have turned out completely differently. She was not written down in the pages of history as clearly as he was, just like many women of that time. They were the ones who organized life in the shadows: they sent parcels to prisons, raised children, stood in queues, passed on information, fought for their freedom. They did everything so that men could change history. I am very happy that I can now tell about her,” Popławska added.
“‘Our Revolution’ is a film that goes beyond the framework of a classic biography. We focus on the most important period of Jacek and Gajka’s marriage – the period of internment during martial law and Grażyna’s illness. The period of communism showed that you can forbid everything to people, but you cannot forbid love. Love for another person and love for the Idea. This is what our film is about,” Domalewski noted.
“Tell me what you feel”, dir. Łukasz Ronduda
An unconventional love story about a pair of young artists for whom the first serious relationship in their adult lives becomes a mirror of their past experiences. The characters, trying to grow up, confront what they have taken away from their family home. They reach for art and various types of games as therapeutic tools to free themselves from the past and create something that seems almost impossible – a healthy relationship in a world shaped by the market, status and appearances.
“Tell me what you feel” is the latest film by Łukasz Ronduda, co-director of “All Our Fears”, awarded with the Golden Lion in Gdynia. The main roles will be played by Jan Sałasiński, Izabella Dudziak and Sebastian Dela. The film will debut during the 55th International Film Festival in Rotterdam.
