“This Festival is the result of many years of preparation and cooperation with the audiovisual industry, which has been waiting for such events for years. Our Festival was created to respond to the dynamic development of the TV series market and the needs of three key groups of recipients. Who is this Festival for? This Festival is for viewers, is a space for series fans who want to stay up to date with the premieres of new series, discover what they already know and meet their favorite creators and talk to them (…) It is a festival for creators and the industry who can exchange through panels and workshops experiences” – says Szymon Miszczak.
During the BNP Paribas Warsaw SerialCon press conference, the festival’s program director, Kaja Szafrańska, talked about the thematic sections and premiere shows that we will see during the next five days.
Multiverse is a section where, among others, we will see such series hits. such as “Penguin”, “The Last of Us”, “Franchise” or “Halo”. Retro, on the other hand, is a section paying tribute to the “rewatching” of both Polish and global projects. Warsaw Nights, in turn, is a section in which, thanks to cooperation with Stołeczna Estrada, we will all be able to enjoy long screenings of various series until late.
The Polonica section is a chance to discuss Polish TV series productions. There will be screenings of selected top series. And it’s all thanks to our partner – Stołeczna Estrada. In the special Beyond the Box section under the patronage of the BNP Paribas bank, participants will celebrate diversity, giving a voice to both brave creators – those in front of and behind the camera – who have been introducing new quality to television for years.
The competition for the Best Polish Series of 2024, along with all the accompanying categories, is the first initiative of this type in Poland and is a response to the needs of the Polish television and streaming industry. This is an excellent opportunity to compare the best Polish productions that attract millions of viewers not only in the country but also abroad. Here are the categories in which Polish creators will be awarded: Best Polish Series of 2024, Best Director, Best Male Role, Best Female Role, Best Cinematography, Cast Direction, Best Script.
