“Venom 3: The Last Dance” is the conclusion of a trilogy about the adventures of an unlucky journalist and a symbiote from outer space. The plot will tell about the pursuit of Venom and Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) by representatives of their worlds. The crazy duo will therefore be forced to make a difficult decision that will determine their future fate. Kelly Marcel, for whom this is her debut behind the camera, is responsible for both the script and direction of the film. Apart from Hardy, the cast also included, among others: Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rhys Ifans and Stephen Graham.
The latest part of “Venom” debuted in cinemas last Friday. Although the film topped the box office charts, grossing $51 million in North America, the income from ticket sales is much lower than in the case of the previous two installments. “Venom” from 2018 earned $80 million, and the second part from 2021 earned a record $90 million, despite the ongoing pandemic.
“Venom 3: The Last Dance” with a budget of $120 million attracted a much larger audience outside the US. It grossed $175 million worldwide, which is still not a satisfactory result. For comparison, the first installment earned a total of $856 million, and the second over $500 million.
Moreover, the conclusion of the trilogy was not liked by critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film received only 37% positive ratings from reviewers. Interestingly, viewers rated it positively 80%.
