The first season debuted in September 2022. “Andor” quite quickly became one of the best rated series on the Disney+platform.
The second season is to take place over four years, divided into three -day blocks. The first three episodes in Poland will be released on April 23 on Disney+. In the following weeks, the viewers will reach three premiere episodes, and the final will be released on May 14.
The creators of the series “Andor” do not intend to leave viewers with unfinished threads or lack of answers to questions about the fate of Cassian Andor. As Tony Gilroy revealed once, the last three episodes of the series will be a direct introduction to the events of the movie “Rogue 1”. So viewers will learn the whole story of the hero of the rebellion. His words were confirmed in August last year during the Disney presentation, the role of Andor, Diego Luna.
“The second part will show the fate of Cassian over the past four years, during which we will see how he will become a man who becomes the hero of the rebellion and devotes himself to the matter in ‘Rogue 1. Star Wars – stories” – he revealed.
In the second series, the cast will be joined by Ben Mendelsohn and will again play the playing from the “Rogue” by Orson Krennica, an opponent of the rebels. On the screen we will also see such actors as: Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Faye Marsay and Varada Sethu.
The budget of the first season of the series “Andor” amounted to about $ 250 million, although reports in this matter differ slightly. This means that the average cost of producing one section could amount to about $ 20 million. This makes Hit Disney+ one of the most expensive series in the history of the “Star Wars” universe, comparable to “Mandalorian” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi”.
At the end of last year, Disney was forced to provide financial data, because the photos for “Andor” were made in Great Britain, and the production used the tax breaks available there. We learned that in 2023 the implementation of the second season of the series from the world of “Star Wars” consumed $ 290.9 million. It should be noted that these are not the total costs of the second season of “Andor”, because the work on it was continued in 2024. The sum of marketing cited by “Forbes” was also not included.
