“Thirteen” This is a film about one of the most dramatic and heroic rescue operations of the 21st century. He talks about twelve boys from the Thai football team and their coach, who in June 2018 were imprisoned in the flooded Tham Luang cave. The world kept his breath when the fight against time and element lasted for many days.
The best divers from around the world set off to the football rescue, including the British John Volanthen (Colin Farrell) and Rick Stanton (Viggo Mortensen). When they found the living boys after 10 days underground, it turned out that this was just the beginning – the most difficult was their safe out. In some places, the cave was so narrow that divers were barely able to squeeze. 5,000 people from 17 countries were involved in the mission.
Behind the camera in “Thirteen” stood the winner of two Oscars Ron Howard. The film had the potential for the great festival and Oscar Laurel cinema, but his path to the viewer was stormy. As a result of the takeover of MGM by Amazon, wide cinema distribution was abandoned. This decision was criticized by Viggo Mortensen, calling it “motivated pure greed.”
The film “Thirteen” will stay today, on October 4, broadcast on the Polsat Film channel at 21.00.
