“Stranger Things” is undoubtedly one of the biggest series hits of recent years. Brothers production Duffer about a group of brave teenagers fighting monsters from another dimension, attracted a huge audience and became a Netflix hit.
Thanks to this production, hits such as: “Running Up That Hill” by Kate Bush and “Master of Puppets” groups Metallica. In the official teaser of the fifth and final series, we could hear a fragment of the rock anthem “Child in Time” groups Deep Purple in a new arrangement.
Now the official trailer of the upcoming production has been released online and the creators have once again used a rock classic as the musical setting.

The trailer featured a ballad “Who Wants To Live Forever” from the repertoire Queen. It’s a song written by the guitarist Brian Maywhich originally comes from the album “A Kind of Magic” (1986). In the studio version, Brian May begins the vocal part and then enters Freddy Mercury. The guitarist also sang the first chorus and the verse “But touch my tears with your lips” and the ending “Who waits forever anyway?”.
Interestingly, there was also a version in which all the vocal parts were performed by Freddie Mercury. She appeared in the movie “Immortal” (“Highlander”), in which he played the main role Christopher Lambert. Brian May wrote this song while sitting in the back seat of his car, after watching a 20-minute scene of the death of the main character’s wife (she was played by Beatie Edney).
The author of the video “Who Wants To Live Forever” is a British director David Mallettone of the most famous creators of music videos from the 1980s. He has worked with Queen many times, as well as, among others, Blondie, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, The Rolling Stones, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Joan Jett, Tina Turner, Rush, Scorpions, Billy Idol, Kiss, AC/DC and Freddie Mercury.
In the recording, she supported the band National Philharmonic Orchestrawhich he conducted Michael Kamenauthor of music for the film “Immortal”.
“Who Wants To Live Forever” is still one of Queen’s greatest timeless hits. In 2005, in the Music Choice listeners’ ranking, the song was ranked 5th on the list of songs that the British would like to hear at their funeral.
During the Freddie Mercury memorial concert at Wembley Stadium in London in 1992, he sang the song movingly Seal. The singer admitted that when he heard the Queen original for the first time, he couldn’t stop crying.
The final season of “Stranger Things” will be broadcast in three parts – the first four episodes will be available on Netflix on November 27 (2 a.m. Polish time), the next three will premiere on December 26 (2 a.m.), and the last one will appear on January 1, 2026 (2 a.m.).
