Share “Kitchen Revolution” takes place in 1918 in the United States, where the flu is taking its toll. A chef named Floyd Monk (Peter Sarsgaard) shows up at the estate of a smug landowner. It turns out that he is skilled in more than just cooking.
Monk’s Machiavellian intrigues and manipulations gradually change the balance of power and domestic power relations. A real game of hopscotch and wandering up and down the social ladder begins. Beautiful sets and costumes create a setting for a brilliant combination of comedy and thriller with an energy that, according to foreign critics, could be the basis for a subversive comedy series.
The film debuted in one of the non-competitive sections of the 80th Venice IFF.
