Almost fifteen years ago, the debut album saw the light of day Monkeyscontaining fifteen items. The publication was published on November 27, 2009 by our own publisher. Preparations to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the album are underway, although, as Małpa himself says, “A Few Numbers About Something” is not included in his ranking of the best albums of 2009. It seems as if the rapper’s opinion was not shared by his fans, because in just 15 minutes a thousand copies of the limited vinyl “A few numbers about something” were sold out. The artist didn’t even have time to inform listeners that such sales had started. It quickly turned out that he didn’t have to, because the fans could handle it themselves.

Sudden fame can overwhelm artists as they have to struggle with market mechanisms that are new to them. When Małpa started making a living from rap, his life completely changed. However, he felt that he was not losing ground and did not let the soda go to his head.

“I have always recorded and released little. I have been in rap for over 20 years, but I have created few songs compared to people with similar experience. I have four solo albums under my belt, others have fifteen. I don’t know if I would collect from solo and band works from before the debut album album. If I was more consistent and determined, it would be easier for me to take advantage of opportunities,” revealed Małpa in an interview for Going.

Moreover, he mentioned his family and friends who were also happy for his success. “I was earning PLN 1,300 at a gas station, and suddenly I had PLN 10,000 a month at my disposal. It was a revolution for my family and friends. We experienced things that seemed unreal to us,” he confessed.

Małpa concerts canceled

The success of the debut album collided with health problems, which forced Małpa to cancel about 30 concerts over the course of three years. As you know, musical events are one of the most profitable aspects of a musician’s work, but the rapper admitted that his world has not collapsed. He thanked fans for their support and understanding.
