The action of the historical series “The King and the Conqueror” takes place in the 11th century, “in times of great political tensions and conflicts for influence. The plot focuses on the rivalry of two powerful characters, Harold of Wessex (Harold Godwinson) and William of Normandy (William the Conqueror), whose fates intertwine in a dramatic fight for the crown and domination of the kingdom. The creator of the series, Michael Robert Johnson, combines realism on the screen historical with a dynamic narrative,” we read in the description of the series.
The main roles will be played by James Norton (“House of Guinness”, “McMafia”, the third season of “Rom of the Dragon”) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (“Game of Thrones”, “One thing I ask of you”). You will also see Emily Beecham, Clémence Poésy, Juliet Stevenson, Eddie Marsana and Jean-Marc Barra on the screen.
The last series in which we saw James Norton was “The Guinness House”. “No series will be successful without a good second plan. In the case of “The Guinness Family”, it is excellent – starting with James Norton as Sean Rafferty (and his earring), the Guinnesses’ most trusted man. However, this is where things get a bit more complicated and trust will be damaged. We will see the consequences, hopefully, in season two. In turn, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will soon be seen in the second season of the series “One thing I ask of you”. It’s a production based on Laura Dave’s upcoming novel “The First Time I Saw Him”.
The series “King and Conqueror” will debut on CANAL+ on Monday, February 23. Two episodes of the series will be released each week.
