The great return of artists to TVP. Viewers comment on the performances

It has been 20 years since Poland joined the European Union. On this occasion Polish Television organized a unique concert “Birthday in Europe! It's good that we are together”. The event took place on May 1 at Piłsudskiego Square in Warsaw. The people invited to perform included: Beard, Kayah, Apple Blossom, Paulina and Natalia PrzybyszWhether Igor Herbut.

They played the role of concert hosts Sylwia Dekiert and Radek Brzózka. During the event, they repeatedly uttered words that were intended to encourage Poles to unite and respect each other.

The stars who performed at the concert had not appeared on public television for some time, or they did so very sporadically. Natalia Przybysz has been associated with the TVN station for years, a Mela Koteluk, or Brodka avoided appearing on television. The concert celebrating Poland's accession to the European Union was therefore a pretext for the great return of some personalities to TVP.

The organizers of the “Birthday in Europe! It's good that we are together” concert focused on young artists from the border between alternative and popular music. He accompanied them in new arrangements of hits from the last 20 years Stokłosa Collective Band under the direction Jan Stokłosa.

Sisters Paulina and Natalia Przybysz performed their song “On two”during which he joined them Choir of the Śląsk Song and Dance Ensemble. Stanisław Hadyna. They also presented “Sutra”and later Natalia performed her song solo “My name is sky”. Kwiat Jabłoni presented the audience with two songs from its repertoire – “Straight Paths” (Look) and “All over again”. In turn, Igor Herbut reminded the listeners “Nice”which he recorded with his band LemON.

Grubsonwho was the only hip-hop representative during the concert, performed his most popular song “On the top” (check). Mela Koteluk prepared for the audience “A fleeting melody”and Brodka sang “Varsov” in honor of the capital.

Tomasz Organek prepared for the audience two of his most eloquent and powerful songs – “Spring” and “Mississippi Burning”. On the other hand Andrzej Piaseczny he chose quiet songs and sang “Breakfast in bed”. During his speech, he emphasized that over the last 20 years, thanks to joining the European Union, Poles could start breathing freely.

Kayah presented her great hit “Too late”. She made an appeal to the audience. “Live well, my dears. Perhaps it is later than it seems,” the singer said from the stage.

Viewers who commented on the artists' performances online had very diverse opinions about the concert. “I've been waiting for Flower of Apple Tree on TVP for so long!”, “Wow, what a line-up of artists. Powerful” – some wrote. Others were slightly less favorable towards the selection of the repertoire and the musicians themselves. “This concert is terrible. A masterpiece of alternative music. I feel sorry for the musicians of the symphony orchestra and the crowd of spectators for this terrible event,” commented one of the viewers. “The artists are a failure. The songs are groaning and groaning,” added another.

There were also comments suggesting that a European artist known around the world should be invited to such an event. Some people also accused TVP of drastically reducing the station's popularity due to such concerts. “I'm not surprised that the viewership is rock bottom,” wrote an Internet user.
