The Golden Clapper is back – an award for the longest-applauded film in the Main Competition

Golden Clapper Award returns to the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia and joins the non-statutory awards. The Golden Clapper is an award from Radio Gdańsk for the director of the longest-applauded film in the Main Competition.

The applause duration will be measured after the ceremonial performances in the Musical Theatre. The results will be posted on a special competition board in the Foyer of the Musical Theatre. The winner will receive a statuette in the shape of clapping hands placed on a granite pedestal.

The award was given from 1994 to 2018, when the award was revoked in an atmosphere of scandal – the winner was a film by Wojciech Smarzowski, which was not in the interests of the authorities at the time. This year, after a break of several years, the Golden Clapper returns to the festival.

Let us recall that 16 films will compete for the Golden Lions at the 49th Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia:
