James Hetfield noticed that the band’s concerts are attended by many very young people. He greeted the youngest fans who, despite the late hour, endured the entire concert. This brought back memories of the first concert he took his daughters to.

Hetfield said his daughters, Marcella and Cali, fell asleep during the first concert they attended as toddlers. He mentioned that the concert was Hannah Montana’s performance. The singer also added that he himself then fell asleep.

“You’re up front and you’re awake. I remember taking my daughters to their first concert. They fell asleep in the middle of it. It was Hannah Montana. I don’t want to say anything bad, but I think I fell asleep too,” James Hetfield told the crowd.

Hannah Montana is the main character of a popular series that aired from 2006 to 2011. Miley Cyrus played the title role and the series enjoyed huge popularity, especially among younger audiences.
