“Philip” Michał Kwieciński was one of the biggest surprises of the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia in 2022. The story of a young man trying to survive in Germany during World War II received the Silver Lion, the second most important distinction of the event. The production also collected other awards, including four Eagles – including for Eric Klum Jr. for the best leading male role.
Kwieciński’s latest film will focus on Fryderyk Chopin. The director is also a co-author of the script. The film is currently in pre-production.
Filming is scheduled to start in September. The implementation will take place in Poland and France. Klum Jr. will star. We don’t know the rest of the cast. Cinematographer Michał Sobociński will also return from the “Filip” team.
The last time an outstanding composer appeared on the big screen was in 2002 thanks to a film “Chopin: The Desire for Love” Jerzy Antczak. Piotr Adamczyk played the title role and was partnered by Danuta Stenka, awarded with the Eagle.
