The Bracia band broke up after many years. Krzysztof Cugowski regrets

Sons Krzysztof Cugowskia long-time vocalist Suflera Boothsthey first appeared on stage together in 1997. They founded the band Brethren and for over 20 years they created music together, performing at the biggest concerts and festivals in Poland. The duo was known for hits such as “Above the abyss”, “I believe in a better world” and “On the other side of the clouds”.

The Cugowski brothers’ father regrets that he did not convince them to reconcile

20 years of fruitful cooperation passed, until finally the Brothers fell out. Krzysztof Cugowski’s sons decided to suspend their activity and start developing their solo careers. The father of the musicians in a recent interview for Plejada confessed that it was an incomprehensible decision for him and he still regrets that his sons made it.

To this day I don’t understand that decision. They took it up for no particular reason and at a time when their career was starting to gain momentum. I had been touring with them for three years. Everything looked great. They had great prospects ahead of them,” said the legendary vocalist.

Krzysztof Cugowski emphasized that he had repeatedly encouraged his sons to reconcile and continue performing together as Bracia. It turns out that they had fallen out not only professionally, but also privately. The father confessed that it was very upsetting to him. “Unfortunately, a month after we finished our Cugowscy project, I found out that they were splitting up. We have the same manager, so we both encouraged them to change their minds. However, it did not help. They fell out not only professionally, but also privately. I regret this. It is sad and painful for me. I know they made a huge mistake. Together they could have done much more” – confessed Krzysztof Cugowski.

Wojciech Cugowski believes he made the right decision

The Elder of the Brothers, Wojciech Cugowskirecently visited the famous Żurnalisty podcast, in which he recalled his moments in the band Bracia. The host of the program quoted Krzysztof Cugowski and asked if the musician ever thought that leaving the band was a mistake. “No! There is no such possibility. It was a very good decision,” Cugowski firmly replied.

Wojciech Cugowski explained in a podcast why he and his brother decided to end the band. “First of all, I wanted to record my album many years ago, but it was impossible with the amount of work. Secondly, I definitely wanted to see what it’s like when you decide for yourself, and I’ll say this, there is nothing more beautiful than freedom. When you have freedom, many things open up. Things you didn’t even know about,” he explained.

His solo career turned out to be “a torment” for him.

The elder of the Cugowski brothers emphasized at the same time that a solo career turned out to be much more difficult than the one in the duo. He stated that the recognition he had gained earlier and the experience in the music industry definitely helped him, but on the way to the top he was still forced to “do his own thing”. It was a “path through torment” for him.

“A band is always a compromise, which is important everywhere. It’s not like I’m a murderer, but I know that I’m going down the path I wanted now and I don’t have to ask anyone if it’s good or not,” added Wojciech Cugowski.

Wojciech Cugowski does not expect an apology from his brother

The podcast host didn’t give up and decided to ask the musician if Piotr Cugowski “had he said the magic word ‘sorry’, there would have been reconciliation between them. The older brother had clearly communicated that he felt no need to hear words of remorse from him.”He has nothing to apologize to me for, just as I have nothing to apologize to him for. We have always been from different worlds, even though we are brothers and it would seem that everything is harmonious, rosy and beautiful,” declared Cugowski.

The artist emphasized that he has always been different from his brother in terms of character. He appreciates that they managed to collaborate musically for so many years. “We played together for 20 years, so I think it is still a great success. We were successful, we had a great team, but it’s enough for me” – summed up Wojciech Cugowski.
