‘The Boys’ Censored in India. Which Scene Was It?

This is a fragment from the second episode of the fourth season, in which the heroes surprise Splinter in a sauna – a man who can create clones of himself. For those who haven’t seen the series, I assure you – he didn’t play chess back then.

Meanwhile, viewers in India have been treated to an edited version of the scene, with the most explicit shots removed and the rest showing no nudity.

Eric Kripke, the showrunner of the series, couldn’t believe that he was allowed to do the scene with Splinter. He met Rob Benedict, who played him, while working on the series “Out of this World”. Before he was cast, Kripke told him what he was signing up for. “(Benedict) said, ‘That sounds crazy, I’ll do it.’ He’s a master, he’s hilarious,” the “The Boys” showrunner said.

“The Boys” is a satire on the huge popularity of comic book superheroes and the multitude of productions that hit the film and TV market every month. It tells the story of superheroes who save the world, but whose private lives leave much to be desired. Their hypocrisy is fought by the title The Boys, who lack supernatural powers.

The new season will see Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan join the main cast. The fourth season will consist of eight episodes. The last will air on Prime Video on July 18, 2024.
