Few genres excite me as much as hardcore. Hence the news about the return Terror to Poland put a smile on my face from ear to ear. Especially since the band from Los Angeles had a huge impact on the current shape and sound of this type of music. With their concert in Krakow, they showed that they fully deserve the title of one of the best concert bands on this scene. However, before we move on to their performance, I will tell you a little about the warm-up conducted by Last Hope, Risk It and Death Before Dishonor!
Last Hope with technical problems
They were the first to appear on the stage Last Hope. The band from Sofia has been active since the mid-1990s, they have played on stage with the biggest stars of this genre, such as Madball Whether Biohazard. That evening, however, they faced an exceptionally difficult task – to warm up the not yet full room for further fun. Tuesday night definitely didn’t work in their favor. You could feel the effort, your head was bobbing on its own “Peacemaker” Whether “One of Us” but there was a bit of energy missing from both the band and the audience. In addition, there were technical problems in the form of the guitarist’s wireless set not working, which made the beginning a bit lame. At the very end we could see the first circle pits and two steps.
Risk It and an unpleasant incident
It only got serious during the set Risk It. The singer deserves huge applause here Gregorwho infected everyone gathered near the stage with his energy. This is the kick this room needed. Rhythmic “Minds Demise” or fast “Boiling Point” allowed us to forget about the relatively uneven beginning of the evening. Gregor not only jumped from one end of the stage to the other, but at one point he also came down to the audience, encouraging them to mosh pits even bigger.
I also need to take a moment to address people who like to drink a little more than they should at concerts. One of such delinquents was constantly accosting the band’s leader, pulling his microphone cable and trying to make a high five with him. At some point, security had to react. His fragile ego couldn’t stand this insult, the guy took off his pants, unbuttoned his four-letter pants and left. Please remember that there are also people on stage who, as well as being respected, also deserve the right to refuse closer interaction and we have nothing to do with that.
Nevertheless, Risk It delivered a really solid show, after which it was time for Death Before Dishonor. I won’t write much about them, because in March this year I described their performance during a concert Madball (more here), also in Kwadrat. In the meantime, the group from Boston released a new album ““Nowhere Bound”from which we could hear, among others: “Overruled”, “Will To Fight” Whether “Pushed To The Edge”. Apart from that, it was a classic at its best, ending with the audience singing, “Boston Belongs to Me”.
Terror and madness in Krakow’s Square
And finally it was time for the big star of the evening. From the very beginning, a much higher level of energy, madness and enthusiasm was clearly felt compared to the other bands. The group started off powerful “One With The Underdogs” and went into a wild series “Spit My Rage”, “Stick Tight” and “Return to Strength”. Scott Vogel he strongly encouraged the audience to jump on stage, noting several times that he “hates these barriers.” Security was extremely helpful in this regard and efficiently helped people get from one side to the other safely.
Dozens of fans crossed the stage, some took the microphone and sang with the band, and others staged classically. I was also touched by this wild energy, it’s hard to deny yourself such pleasure, especially when it’s accompanied by classics such as “Pain into Power”, “Keep Your Mouth Shut” Whether “Keepers of the Faith”. What I love about hardcore is the very strong and dedicated community and the bands’ true gratitude for having fun together. Vogel repeatedly emphasized that he was happy to be able to spend his evenings like this and thanked the fans for their commitment. To briefly summarize the Terror show itself, I can safely say that it was the best hardcore concert I went to this year, and I visited them quite a bit.
