Tamagotchi is a combination of the Japanese words tamago (egg) and uotchi (watch). It is an iconic toy that almost every child probably wanted at one time. Today, it is not as popular a gadget as it was years ago. Despite this, Bandai, which has the rights to the brand, decided to introduce a refreshed edition to its offer.
The Tamagotchi toy has been egg-shaped for a long time, but was made of plastic. However, the manufacturer decided to try something new and more spectacular. This is how the idea of using .
The new edition of Tamagotchi has been placed in a casing made of . It has a light brown shade and it certainly looks interesting. Bandai also decided to use . The manufacturer boasts that the gadget fits into the current vision of the brand, which is to “promote a more ecological future”. Looking at the solutions used, it is hard to disagree with this.
The new edition of the popular toy has been named and is available for purchase only in one store. It is Amazon, where the gadget can be purchased for (approx. PLN 115).
Although the real boom for Tamagotchi came in the 90s of the last century and the toy is no longer as popular as it was a few decades ago, it is still very much alive. Every now and then, new versions appear on sale, which allow you to take care of the virtual pet. You have to “feed it, play with it, and clean up after it.”
Of course, the gadget has evolved over the years, with the manufacturer deciding to implement new solutions. For example, in the Tamagotchi Uni from 2023, it was decided to place a Wi-Fi module. It provides wireless connection to Tamaverse, a virtual playground where you can connect with other gadget users. In this way, Bandai has ensured support for the social aspect.
