The main character of the series is Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan), a neurosurgeon whose life suddenly falls apart. Like Mel in “Virgin River” and Maggie, she seeks solace in a quiet, idyllic place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. He decides to return to his hometown in Nova Scotia. There, however, he faces new challenges and finds… new love. During the following episodes, we learn about her friends, her complicated family past and the love adventures of the inhabitants of a charming town.
“Sullivan’s Crossing” is a co-production of the Canadian station CTV and the American CW. The first series of the adventures of Maggie Sullivan was broadcast in 2023. Two seasons are available on Netflix, the third will most likely be made available soon (it debuted in the USA in 2025). Production has already been resumed for a fourth series consisting of ten episodes. They will debut in Canada later this year.
The main character, Maggie Sullivan, is played by Canadian actress Morgan Kohan. Before “Sullivan’s Crossing”, she was known for romantic films such as “On the Wings of Love” or the popular series “When Hope Calls”. He also appeared in crime productions – “Ransom” and “Black Widow Killer”.
“I remember when the series was announced and the posters with Chad Michael Murray and Scott Peterson were revealed, I couldn’t believe it. And others too, it was a reaction of ‘wait, what’s happening. How does it feel to enter this world?’ (…) On the one hand, I felt relief because everyone’s attention was focused on them and everyone knew them, but on the other hand, I felt pressure because I was unknown and wanted to prove myself. Chad was exceptionally supportive. When someone came to him to ask about his decision or other things, he would say: ‘It’s the Morgan series’ or ‘our joint production’ – she said in an interview with Yahoo.
On her Instagram, Kohan often shares behind-the-scenes photos and videos. When two seasons of “Sullivan’s Crossing” debuted on Netflix (in the US), she wrote: “Two seasons on Netflix, the premiere of the third one soon on Canadian television, a billboard on Yonge and Dundas Square. Life is amazing and I am overjoyed. An absolute dream come true. Thank you to everyone who watches the series.”
The fourth season of the production will debut in spring. Filming began in August last year. Deadline quoted Kohan’s statement on the occasion of the start of filming.
“I’m proud to be back on set for season four with this wonderful cast and crew. Watching the show grow organically throughout all three seasons. We have a great audience in Canada and we’re excited to see the show grow in popularity with international audiences. Season four is the best and I can’t wait to share it with you.”
Chad Michael Murray gained international fame thanks to the role of Lucas Scott in the youth series “Love Weather”. He also has roles in such productions as “Dear Trouble”, “Freaky Friday” (and its sequel), “End Times: The Leftovers”, “Bandits and Angels”, “Agent Carter”, “The Chosen” and the beloved CW series “Riverdale”. At one time, the media was loud about his complicated relationship with Sophia Bush. Today he is in a happy relationship with Sara Roemer, with whom he has three children. In 2024, they celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary.
“We squeezed more into these 10 years than I could have imagined. It’s truly wonderful. This is the best decade of my life – being able to share every moment with you,” he wrote on Instagram. “Every day with you is better and brighter. I hope for another 50 anniversaries. Until we are old and gray.”
