Succession on HBO has captured viewers’ attention with a blend of traditional father troubles and writing so acute that only Veep could reasonably claim to match it. Jesse Armstrong’s television program is centered on the wealthy Roy family, who run the media conglomerate Waystar Royco. The power battle between patriarch Logan and his would-be successor son, Kendall, has dominated the dark and frequently humorous drama since its debut in 2018. As we enter season four, this three-year conflict seems to be in the rearview mirror, leaving viewers to wonder what this hilariously dysfunctional group will be up to next.
Succession Season 3 you received a record-breaking 25 nominations, making it the most acting nominations for a drama series in a single year and leading the pack of 2022 Emmy-nominated shows. In their respective categories, actors Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, J. Smith Cameron, Sarah Snook, Nicholas Braun, Kieran Culkin, and Matthew Mcfayden all received nominations. However, McFadden was the only one in the group to succeed. Of course, if you want to know how much each actor made per episode, you can see those numbers here. In October 2021, a fourth season of the show was formally ordered.
Succession’s fourth season is unquestionably the most awaited, especially after the dramatic season three ending and its second stint as Best Drama. What grotesque jabs will be delivered next? Who will align themselves with whom in opposition? Whoa, what the hell are Tom and Cousin Greg doing? All people, even the.001 percent are human, if season three taught us anything at all. Could the siblings’ newly-found bond hold, preventing them from plotting to harm one another? It’s highly improbable and most definitely less enjoyable. What will these people do with souls, to paraphrase Greg, in any case?
The information you need to know before watching Succession’s fourth season is here.

Recently, HBO revealed that Waystar PR executive Karolina Novotney (Dagmara Domiczyk), Stewy Hosseini (Arian Moayed), Kendall’s assistant Jess Jorden (Juliana Canfield), Naomi Pierce (Annabelle Dexter-Jones), and Nan Pierce (Cherry Jones) would all be returning.

What Will Happen in the Succession Season 4 Story?
There’s a good chance the toxic family tension won’t go away. After all, Roys will remain Roys. But now that Waystar is about to be sold to Matsson, Kendall, Roman, and Shiv suddenly appear as a shockingly united front determined to hold onto their positions of authority. That’s what “All the Bells Say,” the season three conclusion, suggested, at least.
If you remember, the siblings came together in the last 15 minutes of the programme, putting their animosity aside, to surprise Logan and prevent the supermajority vote required for the sale. The younger Roys quickly became overcome with feelings of astonishment and awe after discovering that they had been out-punched, and this time by none other than their own mother. By informing Logan, Tom seems to strengthen his position at Waystar and demonstrate his allegiance as the patriarch’s son-in-law in the largest power play (and treachery) of the season.
In the near future, producer Scott Ferguson stated in a conversation with Variety that the Roys will visit Norway-Matsson’s native mountains for a “family gathering.” Sounds menacing. But it’s anticipated that Kendall will continue along a destructive road. He admitted his sins, but now he must live with the decision he made. Strong claimed that Kendall is experiencing “some fresh hell, as you can imagine” during season four in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. Recently, Cox, Strong, and Braun were seen filming what appeared to be a funeral scene in New York. However, it is unknown who will be killed off.
The transaction between IT visionary Lukas Matsson and media behemoth Waystar Royco is getting closer, according to the official logline. As the Roys envision what their life would be like after the sale is completed, the possibility of this seismic sale causes existential turmoil and familial discord. As the family considers a future in which their influence in culture and politics will be drastically reduced, a power struggle emerges.

The ‘Rebel Alliance’ vs. Santa the Hitman in the fourth season trailer of The Succession
The fourth season of Succession has a trailer that gives us our first look at what has happened since the backstab. In the video, the Roy siblings are seen forging ahead with their freshly forged rebel alliance against their father while also enlisting the help of a few others. (You, Sandy and Stewie, are in our sights.) Are you eager to engage in this knife fight? Shiv queries. While the kids try to retake control, the patriarch goes to Roman for assistance in negotiating a deal with Matsson. Logan is observed “moseying” around the ATN newsroom in another shot. Greg quips, “It’s like if Santa Clause was a hitman. By the end, all of his staff, including Greg, are singing his name. The complete video is available below.
Logan is shown in another shot “moseying” around the ATN newsroom. Greg comments, “It’s as if Santa Clause was a hitman. By the time it’s through, all of his workers, including Greg, are yelling his name. Check out the complete video down below.
Naturally, there are a lot of uncertainties around season four. For instance, what is ahead for Waystar? Which children, if any, will be eligible to inherit the throne? Does Shiv know what Tom did and whether he actually committed the act? What the hell is going on with Connor in all of this? The oldest Roy sibling does, however, appear to be on the way to a happy marriage, at least according to a snapshot taken at an unidentified filming site. In the photo, the couple’s names—”Willa Ferreyra” and “Connor Roy”—are emblazoned on a glittering banner, and there are black-and-white pictures of them all over a marina. And from the tiny preview footage, it appears that these two will truly go down the aisle.
Cousin Greg, everyone’s favourite character, “shifts into another gear” in season four, according to a recent interview with Braun for Deadline. His and Tom’s frequency has changed.” Well, we’re eager to watch how that develops. At the very least, it ought to offer a tonne of “good memeage.” The upcoming Succession episode, according to him, is going to be “absolute banger.”

Will Succession Have a Fifth Season?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. Although there was some speculation that Succession would run for five seasons, Armstrong said in a conversation with The New Yorker that the show will end after its fourth season. The series’ creator explained his choice on how to wrap things off as follows: “You know, Succession makes a promise. I never imagined that this would last forever. I’ve always had a vague sense of the end in my head. I’ve been attempting to answer the question, “Is it the next season, the one after that, or the one after that?” since Season 2.
Armstrong went on to explain why, despite being difficult, deciding to end Succession after five years was ultimately the right decision. The partnerships, he continued, “with the cast, my fellow writers, Nick Britell and Mark Mylod, and the other directors, they’ve just been so good. It’s been a difficult decision.” “And I believe that working with them has allowed me to perform at my highest level. HBO has also been kind and would have likely produced further seasons, and they have been gracious in saying that it is up to you. That’s lovely, but ultimately it comes with responsibility—stopping would seem extremely perverse.
There is a slight potential that the Roy family will make a comeback in a spin-off, if you’re wondering what the possibilities are. However, the showrunner gave the impression that “maybe there’s something else that could be done.” We will need to wait and see what that “something” is.
Several cast members have now shared their reactions to Armstrong’s news in the wake of his announcement. Most recently, Snook said she learned the programme was ending just during the final table read and that she “felt a huge sense of loss, disappointment, and sadness.”According to Strong, the last season “will feel like a death, in a way.”
