“Silos”, “Go ahead, brother”, “It’s always Agatha”: The most interesting series of the fall. We are waiting for them

Have you watched the series “WandaVision”? Marvel Studios is finishing work on a spin-off of the popular sitcom-based production. “Agatha Actually” will tell the story of the powerful witch Agatha Harkness, who, as Agnes, impersonated Wanda Maximoff and Vision’s neighbor.

In the nine-episode show, we will see how Agatha, deprived of her powers, is freed from a strong spell by a teenager who later convinces her to go on a dark journey together. Together they will gather a circle of witches and set off on the Witches’ Trail, a dangerous path that allows wishes to come true.

The production was based on the comics about Agatha Harkness published by Marvel Comics. The creator of the series is Jac Schaeffer, who, together with Gandja Monteiro and Rachel Goldberg, was also responsible for directing. On the screen The main role will be played by Kathryn Hahn, Her partners will include Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke and Patti LuPone.

A series belonging to Phase V of the Marvel Universe will debut with two episodes on the Polish platform Disney+ on September 19, 2024. Viewers in the States will see it a day earlier. We can already see the trailer for the production. A dose of powerful magic awaits us!

This series this is one of the greatest things that has happened to vampire fans in recent yearsthe world of pop culture, Victorian creations and silly comedies.

If you don’t know this mockumentary about bloodsuckers from Staten Island, it’s worth mentioning that was created in reference to the 2014 film of the same titledirected by Taika Waititi and Jeamine Clement. The idea was so well-received that it was decided to continue the adventures of the vampires presented through the eyes of documentarians in the form of a series.

The story follows the daily lives of several ghouls who share a home in New York City. Although they are hundreds of years old, the modern world still presents them with many new challenges. However, they have one main goal there – to find a way to dominate the New World.

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end – The sixth and final season of the series will see the light of day (oh my!) on October 21, 2024, on FXand will debut on Hulu a day later. In Poland, the production will be available on Disney+. First, we will get three episodes, and each subsequent one will appear with a week’s break. The premiere of new episodes will fit perfectly into the period often called “spooktober”. I have to admit that I am already starting to miss Nandor’s accent or the famous energy vampire – Colin Robinson.

To say that “Separation” is one of the best series of recent yearswould be quite a bold statement in the face of the flood of titles flooding the audiovisual market. And yet I will risk such a statement. This is confirmed by nominations for Emmy and Golden Globe awards, but it is not ruled out by the too small internet hype for such a great production.

Dan Erickson’s series debut, which hit the Apple TV+ platform in early 2022, this work is accomplished. The starting point itself is intriguing: here we enter a microcosm in which complete separation of private and professional life becomes possible. The title doesn’t explore the social background of such a concept too much (although it’s clear that many outsiders are terrified by the idea), but focuses on the fates of several employees.

One could joke that corporate employees care about work-life balance like no one else – after all, once they cross the company’s front door, they forget who they are outside its walls. There is no way for these two realities to interpenetrate; any attempt to get any information out will be effectively thwarted. Until someone finally succeeds. Mark shows us around the dark, yet sterile world of Lumon Industries. The creators use the well-known but very effective silhouette of a questioning hero who, as a result of obtaining new data, begins to question the functioning of the previously well-functioning puzzle, noticing scratches on its smooth surface.

“Separation” itself but there are no weak points. Starting with the script, which cleverly doses subsequent information and gradually reveals the cards, through the moving acting performances (the chemistry between Adam Scott and the phenomenal Britt Lower makes it impossible to take your eyes off them), and ending with the minimalist set design and inventive camera work – there is no element here that is even slightly lame.

There is one more thing that the Apple TV+ series does flawlessly: it builds tension. The final episode ended with such an exciting plot twist that it immediately begged for a second season to be prioritized. Unfortunately, this one viewers had to wait for… three years. The good news is that much of the waiting is behind us. The next installment of “The Separation” will debut in the second half of January 2025.

“Go ahead, brother” promises to be one of the biggest hits of the second half of 2024. This is the latest Netflix series, directed by Maciej Pieprzyca. Known for “Absolute Beginners”, “Lesson Plan” and “Operation Soulcatcher”, Piotr Witkowski plays a former special services officer who finds a new job in a shopping complex. He is partnered on screen by Konrad Eleryk (“Silent Night”, “Rojst: Millenium”, “Horror Story”).

The first opinions after the screening during New Horizons seem to confirm that the production (in which we will be able to see the work of an elite police unit) is an action-packed and spectacular, brilliantly made and acted series.

“Silos” is a picture of a dystopian world where people have hidden underground. According to their knowledge, the Earth now resembles a sandy wasteland. The series adaptation of Hugh Howey’s trilogy, consisting of “Silos”, “Change” and “Dust”, captivated viewers and critics alike. The atmosphere of the production, the acting and the social issues raised were impressive. Adding to this a well-conducted criminal intrigue, the result is a production from which it is impossible to tear yourself away – also because of the phenomenal actress playing the main character – Juliette Rebecca Ferguson.

The second season of “Silos” will debut on Apple TV+ on November 15, in which we will certainly learn the answers to the questions that are troubling us, but we will also be able to expect incredible plot twists. As the creators announce, the first one awaits viewers at the end of the premiere episode.

As someone who grew up watching the cult “Batman: The Animated Series” (1992-95), I couldn’t point to any other upcoming premiere. “Caped Crusader” introduces a young Batman who begins his career in the early 1940s. The hero will face off against his iconic adversaries, including Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Two-Face and Clayface’em. There will be room for less popular villains, like Gentleman Ghost and Onomatopoeia, as well as variations on well-known characters, like a female version of the Penguin.

The creators announce a darker, more somber tone to the story — I’m not complaining, because we’ve had some successful comedies in the DC Comics universe, to name just “Harley Quinn” and the recent “Kite Man: Hell Yeah!”. Just like in the comics, Batman will sometimes fade into the background, allowing a villain or side character to come to the forefront. The trailer suggests that this will be the best animated film featuring the Dark Knight in many years.

The series showrunner is Bruce Timm, one of the creators of TAS. “Caped Crusader” also features JJ Abrams, who masterminded “Lost,” and Matt Reeves, who directed the last feature adaptation starring Robert Pattinson as the Bat. The voice cast includes Hamish Linklater, Jamie Chung, Christina Ricci, Diedrich Bader, Minnie Driver, Mckenna Grace, Reid Scott, Paul Scheer, and Haley Joel Osment.

The new “Batman” will debut on Prime Video on August 1, 2024.

Yes, yes, I’m waiting for all those disgusted by my choice, who will tell me about the harmful stereotypes, shallow plot and bad acting. What can I do, “Emily in Paris” it’s my guilty pleasure and every year I wait for a new season of the Parisian love adventures of the petite brunette. This time, from August 15 on Netflixwe are to know the final answer to the question: Gabriel or Alfie? Or maybe someone else? New Season Trailer causes a lot of confusion…

If anyone missed the series hype, Emily is a marketing specialist in one of the Parisian advertising agencies, where she came straight from the US. Her relaxed and open American style is emphasized in the series at every turn, which is supposed to be opposed by Parisian elegance, reserve and class. To this should be added a lot of stories from the life of the agency (mainly blunders and ways Emily gets out of them) interwoven with the private fates (mainly romances and love affairs) of the characters. a light and pleasant story, perfect for a summer evening.

My favorite, although somewhat unrealistic, element of the series is the fashion. Lily Collins, who plays the title character, as well as the other characters, are straight out of a magazine. After all, it has long been known that Paris is the capital of fashion, but it is still surprising how young Emily, aspiring to higher positions, can afford extravagant creations from the best designers?

Don’t think too much, just give in to it. You’ll have a great time and forget about your deadlines for a while.’oh!
