“Shogun” is a production that takes viewers to Japan at the turn of the century, then on the verge of civil war. The main character is Lord Yoshii Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada), who must fight for his life when his enemies from the Council of Regents unite against him.
He is helped by John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis), an English navigator for whom Torangi’s victory will have personal benefits. The series is a huge production undertaking. Great care was taken to present feudal Japan in the best possible way – the photos, set design, costumes and action scenes are stunning.

According to the Disney+ press office, the production achieved an impressive 9 million views worldwide within 6 days after the premiere.
“Shogun”, based on the novel by James Clavell, premiered in Poland on Disney+ on February 27. Subsequent episodes will appear weekly on Disney+ until April 23.
