“The Social Network” by David Fincher He is considered one of the most important films of the breakthrough of the first and second decade of the 21st century. He talked about the creation of the Facebook social platform and the price that Mark Zuckerberg was ready for her success (Jesse Eisenberg).
The production turned out to be a huge success and won three Oscars. At the end of June, we learned about the planned creation of a continuation of a loud hit.
The sources of the Deadline website claim that the latest production will not be a direct sequel, but rather a return to the topic of the influence of the largest social platform on society.
The plot of the continuation of “The Social Network”, according to the director’s earlier words, was to focus on the publication of Jeff Horowitz in “Wall Street Journal” from 2021, which described Facebook’s influence on the views and behavior of its users. Aaron Sorkin (scriptwriter of the first part) admitted in the past that the events of Capitol were crucial for him on January 6, 2021.
It is not known if Zuckerberg will be the main character of the film again and whether Jesse Eisenberg will return to his role. It was recently announced that the heroine of the latest production will be Frances Haugen – who in 2021 revealed numerous internal documents of the company.
Her story saw the light of day thanks to the biography entitled “A woman who opposed Facebook. The fight for transparency and responsibility of technological giants”.
In the official description of the book we can read:
“The story of a Facebook signalist who, by increasing the transparency and responsibility of technological giants, wants to help us regain control of our lives.
(…) She testified before the American Congress and gave interviews in which she admitted that she copied tens of thousands of pages of documents. She was awarded during the first message about the state of the state delivered by President Biden. She made efforts to make everyone carefully understand what these documents were talking about: Facebook knew that he accidentally changed his algorithm so that he began rewarding extremism and then refused to fix the mistake. “
