Coming from Kluczbork Magda Durecka appeared on the music scene at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s. In cooperation with the composer Ryszard Kniat and lyricist Andrzej Kosmala (he supported this duo for years Krzysztof KrawczykKosmala was also the singer’s manager) released an album titled simply “Magda”.
This release includes premiere songs as well as well-known hits from the repertoire, among others. Schabuff Formation of the Dead (“Merry Champagne Club”). She presented recordings from this album at: Festival in Opole in 1990 in the Premiere competition (“How beautiful this world”) and the concert “From Opole to Opole” (“We don’t know ourselves”).
Magda Durecka is the revelation of the Festival in Opole
It was during the Polish song festival that 23-year-old Magda Durecka won the title of Miss Lens. “Irena Santor gave her valuable advice, and a Urszula Sipińska…she borrowed boots. Unfortunately, the bra disappeared from Durecka’s wardrobe, and the color TV – the preview of the performances – evaporated without a trace,” we read on the Złota Scena website.
Durecka from “What a Beautiful World” also appeared during Soldiers’ Song Festival in Kołobrzeg. In turn, at the 1993 Festival in Opole, she won the second prize for a medley of hits from the 1960s – Magda Dance Mega Mix.
For three years, she hosted a nationwide television concert of wishes and an original music program “Hits from satellite”. She has collaborated and recorded with artists such as: Krzysztof Krawczyk, Bohdan Smoleń and Mieczysław Czechowiczbut her career as a vocalist practically ended in the second half of the 1990s.
