Shakira: “Waka Waka” voted the catchiest football song in history

Soon, from Friday, June 14, we will admire the games of the best teams in Europe as part of the continental championship. The matches will last until Sunday, July 14, 2024.

For now, it is not known who will prepare a special anthem for the event, because as we have known for years, big stars of the scene were involved in creating the leitmotif of football battles, such as: Shakira. According to SeatPick (a ticket price comparison website), it was the Colombian singer who created the most important and best football song in history.

Track “Waka Waka” was rated along with 24 other songs. The conclusions were drawn based on the number of plays on streaming services, but also on more detailed music data such as tempo, rhythm and energy, the number of words spoken and the emotions it evokes. The song received as much as 8.4 points on a 10-point scale.

In second place was the hit with 6.9 points “Hayya Hayya (Better Together)”which they perform Trinidad Cardona, Davido and Aisha from the 2022 World Cup. He took third place RickyMartin and “La Copa de la Vida” with a total of 6.5 points (from the 1998 World Cup).

Due to the upcoming European Football Championship, SeatPick (a ticket price comparison website) conducted a study to select the all-time football hit. Each of the 25 most popular songs, selected on the basis of plays on streaming services, was rated in terms of tempo, rhythm, energy, how much it makes listeners dance, the number of words spoken in it and the positive emotions it evokes. The undeniable leader was Shakira's song, which was the anthem of the World Cup in South Africa. On a ten-point scale, the song “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)” received 8.4 points, leaving its competitors far behind.

Hit came in second place with a score of 6.9 points. The song accompanied the most important football competition of 2022. Third place went to Ricky Martin and his hit “La Copa de la Vida”, which received a total of 6.5 points. The Puerto Rican singer's hit from 1998 became a classic among football hits and undoubtedly made Latin music famous around the world.

Off the podium there were such hits as: “We Are One (Ole Ola)”which Pitbull performs together with Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leittesong “Wavin' Flag” by K'NAANtrack “We Are The People”which he created Martin Garrixhit Nelly Furtado “Forca”and also a song New Order “World in Motion”track Nicky Jam “Live It Up” and single Fat Les “Vindaloo”.
