Zakopower debuted in 2005, and their career gained momentum after their triumph at the festival in Sopot. “We came there with great hopes, so young. We really wanted to be noticed. When the verdict was announced, I was the happiest man in the world. I was floating above the ground!” – recalls Karpiel-Bułecka in an interview with “Hello, it’s Polsat”.
Today, the band can boast not only platinum albums, but also a consistent combination of highlander tradition with a modern sound. Their songs, such as “Boso”, “Na seven” or “Galop”, have become part of the musical identity of Poles.

Roots from Podhale and heart in music
Although Sebastian Karpiel-Bułecka has been performing on the biggest stages for years, he has not distanced himself from his homeland. “Physically yes, but mentally and with my heart I stayed there. You can hear it in my music. It is rooted in Skalne Podhale. The highlander spirit has a place in it,” he said in Polsat. As he adds, he tries to teach his children the same sensitivity.
The musical adventure continues – return to the Polsat stage
On November 8, 2025, the anniversary concert of Zakopower will be recorded in Polsat studios. Sebastian’s musical friends will appear on stage next to the band, including: Natalia Szroeder, Miuosh and David Kwiatkowskias well as the jurors of the “Must Be the Music” program, in which Karpiel-Bułecka was one of the judges for years.
“I’m glad that it will happen again, because it’s a beautiful adventure. We did a lot of good work, we promoted talented young artists. I predict a great future for them,” emphasizes the musician.
The concert will be shown in 2026 on Polsat, and announcements of the event are already warming up fans on social media.
Zakopower is a phenomenon that connects generations – their concerts attract both highland lovers and fans of contemporary pop. “What we have done over the years shows that you can be faithful to tradition and at the same time keep up with the times,” concluded Karpiel-Bułecka.
