One of the most popular Polish comedies returns to the screen. “On our own” is the story of two feuding families, the Pawlaks and the Karguls, resettled after the war from the Kresy to Silesia. Even though they change their place of residence, they take their old dispute with them. They argue like they used to, over the Bug River, but despite their differences, they cannot live without each other.
The film directed by Sylwester Chęciński has been entertaining and touching millions of viewers for over half a century. Subsequent generations were raised on the fate of the Karguls and Pawlaks, and many dialogues have become a permanent part of everyday language.
The main roles were played by Władysław Hańcza (Kargul) and Wacław Kowalski (Pawlak). Apart from them, they played, among others: Maria Zbyszewska as Mania Pawlak, Halina Buyno as Aniela Kargulowa, Ilona Kuśmierska as Jadźka Pawlak and Jerzy Janeczek as Witia Pawlak.
The film “Sami swoi” in color will be broadcast today, November 5, at 20:40 on Polsat.
