Ryan Reynolds Won’t Return to DC? James Gunn revealed the details of the conversation with the actor

In a recent interview James Gunn revealed some information about the announced productions from the DC universe, as well as those that currently remain in the sphere of dreams and preliminary plans. For example, he explained that he was considering attaching a Matt Reeves film starring Robert Pattinson. Ultimately, however, he decided against it, and the universe will receive a completely new Batman, in a film titled “The Brave and the Bold”.

“I want to tell stories both inside and outside the DCU. We want to be able to tell a story at any time where Superman is different. Red Sun, for example. We want to be able to play with these characters in different ways. There are a lot of stories in DC comics outside the main universe. I think that’s what makes DC so cool.”

And will there be a place in the universe for Ryan Reynolds and the Green Lantern?

Later in the interview, the director revealed that she had talked to Reynolds about his potential return to the role of Hal Jordan. However, fans know perfectly well that this is one of the actor’s most hated characters.

“Ryan doesn’t care. One of the first people I talked to was him. ‘Will you come back?’ I asked. He replied: ‘Go away’. But he’s only joking! I didn’t tell him to come back.”

The actor’s answer should not surprise fans “Deadpool 2”which included a post-credits scene in which the main character went back in time to kill Ryan Reynolds the moment he decided to take on the role in “Green Lantern.”

The film “Green Lantern” turned out to be a huge financial failure, and critics did not spare the production in their reviews. The only positive note is the fact that Reynolds met his current wife, Blake Lively, on the set.
