“Rush Hour”: Will There Be a Continuation of the Series? It’s the Director’s Fault

The main problem in creating the fourth part of “Rush Hour” is the director of the previous films, Brett RatnerIn recent years, he has been accused by numerous women of inappropriate behavior and harassment, which is why Warner Bros. cut all ties with him. The series was produced under the banner of Warner’s New Line Cinema.

The producers of the film are trying their best to establish cooperation with other studios. They are meeting with representatives of many Hollywood studios, but as we know, Paramount, Sony and Lionsgate have already rejected them. The reason for the reluctance is the fear that Brett Ratner could become the director again, which no one wants to comment on at the moment.

The heroes of the “Rush Hour” series were two policemen – the talkative and somewhat stereotypical James Carter (Chris Tucker) and Hong Kong inspector Lee (Jackie Chan). Despite cultural differences and different personality traits, the men join forces to solve crimes. The first film hit the big screens in 1998, and the next parts appeared in 2001 and 2007.

The first talks about a fourth installment appeared back in 2018. In recent years, both Chan and Tucker have repeatedly said in interviews that they would love to work together again.
