Rose from Blackpink talks about difficult beginnings in K-pop and announces a solo album

Blackpink’s team consists of Rose, Jennie, Jisoo and Lisa. The first girl is currently preparing for the premiere of her debut solo album “Rosie”. In a recent interview with The New York Times, she opened up about the pressure she faced at the beginning of her career.

Rose revealed that in the world of K-pop, artists are expected to be perfect in every aspect – both on stage and on social media. She admitted that she and her bandmates were rigorously trained to always present a flawless image – for example, they responded to fans in an “ideal” pattern and constantly projected a flawless image of themselves.

Rose admitted that it took her a long time to adapt to the industry requirements.

“The first years were very difficult for me. But after some time, I started to learn and find it,” said the artist.

K-pop culture is disciplined and strict

K-pop has been known for years for its rigorous approach to artist training. Jennie, also a member of Blackpink, previously spoke about the strict rules for young girls being trained for their careers.

Jennie herself had to explain a lot after she was caught smoking an e-cigarette indoors. Her label, OA Entertainment, issued an official statement expressing regret over the situation. Jennie personally apologized for her behavior, admitting that it was inappropriate and may have disappointed her fans.
