The album “Re Trans Misja”, a tribute to one of the most recognized albums by Reni Jusis, was released on December 4. It is a project that surprises and moves, offering listeners a new look at music from two decades ago.
A new life for cult hits
“It was a breakthrough album in my career, I owe it a lot. However, I never expected that it would be an important album for other artists as well. Last year, when we celebrated the 20th anniversary of “Trans Misja”, I received many signals that my despite the passage of time, the compositions still resonate and inspire others. We came up with the idea to give these songs to other artists and rely on their sensitivity – this is how ‘Re Trans Misja’ was created,” says Reni Jusis.
Multigenerational musical dialogue
The new album is a journey through various musical styles. The opening of the album is a 9-minute trance piano improvisation by Leszek Możdżer. It is followed by reinterpretations created by artists such as Novika, Smolik and Envee – key figures of the Polish club scene of the 2000s. In turn, the younger generation is represented by Mery Spolsky, Otsochodzi, Bovska, Kuba Karaś and Frank Leen.
The project is not only a tribute to the work of Renia Jusis, but also an attempt to combine the past with the present. – “It’s a unique dialogue between the past and the future. (…) It’s like meeting your child after many years… On the one hand, you barely recognize him, and on the other, you are proud of how he has grown,” emphasizes Reni Jusis.
Not only for electronics fans
“Re Trans Misja” is a mixture of sounds that can move both long-time fans of Renia’s work and those who are just now discovering her music. The album was released by Kayax. Fans can enjoy new arrangements both on classic media, beautifully released double white vinyl, and on streaming services.
