It was 2014. Britney Spears came to Warsaw for a short visit related to the promotion of her lingerie collection. Although she did not give a concert, her stay in Poland aroused great emotions among fans and the media. Then the editors of “Fakt” decided to show the singer a photo of one of the most recognizable dancers in the country – Rafał Maserak. The singer’s reaction was immediate.
“I definitely like it. Very, very much! It’s hot,” said Britney Spears in an interview with “Fakt”.
Although the meeting remained only symbolic, news of this compliment quickly spread in the Polish media. The interested party himself admitted that he was pleasantly surprised by the star’s words.
“Wow, I was surprised! It’s a great compliment and an honor for me to hear such words from Britney Spears herself. I’m very pleased. I’d love to meet her!” – commented the dancer in an interview with “Fakt”.
Maserak after many years: “It would be a fantastic experience”
In the latest interview for Eska.pl, Rafał Maserak again referred to that situation. With distance, but also with sympathy, he recalled the times when he found out that he had won the heart of a world star.
“There was something like this. In 2014? Oh my, now we would have to ask Britney, but it could be difficult to contact her. I remember that she was in Warsaw and one of the journalists showed her some photos of men from show business and she pointed at me. I was very pleased. In those days, I could have danced with her and it would certainly have been a fantastic experience,” said the “Dancing with the Stars” juror.
When asked if he would also consider such a dance duet today, Maserak smiled and added that he was currently “retired from dancing”.
From the dance floor to a pop culture legend
The story with Britney Spears is just one of many moments that consolidated Maserak’s position in Polish show business. Since his debut in the first edition of “Dancing with the Stars” in 2005, the dancer has become one of the most recognizable names on entertainment television. His dancing style, charisma and sense of humor earned him the sympathy of viewers and the title of one of the “most desirable men in Poland”.
