Rachel Zegler, an actress, whom we know from “Death Games: Birds and Snake Ballads” and “West Side Story”, recently gave an interview “Vogue Mexico”, in which She raised the topic of controversy around the latest adaptation of “Snow White”. The star plays the main role in it, which caused many mixed reactions due to the differences resulting from its origin and appearance in relation to the original Śnieżka. In an interview with “Vogue”, the actress called the response to the audience “passion”.
“I interpret people’s feelings about this film as their passion for her. What an honor to be part of something that people feel so much passion for. We will not always have the same moods as people around us and everything we can do is give our best. ”
Zegler did not refer directly to the wave of criticism, which fell on her after the cast was announced because of her origin, but referred to a similar situation that met Halle Bailey – an actress playing Arielka in a new adaptation of “Little Mermaid”. The “West Side Story” star also drew attention to the changing approach to the film adaptation of classic fairy tales.
In 2022 on D23 Expo Rachel Zegler called the original “Snow White” from 1937 for outdated. Now she has changed her position.
“It is very important for viewers to know that Disney found this beautiful and delicate balance between the animated classic from 1937, which everyone knows and love, and at the same time presents him to the new generation,” he reveals.
