Windbreaks on the Baltic Sea, or the Polish fight for a piece of the beach
Every year it is criticized, ridiculed and condemned just as much, but it does not seem to disappear from the beaches. “Paravanning”, the national “sport” of Poles, is a real plague and nuisance during the tourist season at the Polish seaside. However, the right place and the certainty of having it are important not only for our compatriots. In other countries the problem is no smaller.

The recently widely discussed in the media video of a Polish woman showing a beach in Croatia occupied by blankets and towels has sparked a huge discussion on the Internet. Users of popular social media wondered, among other things, whether they should get up at 3 a.m. to be guaranteed to find a free place for sunbathing.
Morning sweat races
In previous seasons, there was no shortage of footage of tourists leaving early in the morning in foreign resorts to occupy the sun loungers by the pool. Then I watched irritated mothers with children unable to find a seat. One of them simply threw the towels off the sun loungers. When their owners came after some time, it didn’t end in a brawl because of the prohibition notices. There’s no arguing with that.
Recently, another video of a Polish woman on vacation in Croatia became viral. On TikTok, @zalogowa showed what tourists do as soon as the gates to the hotel swimming pools open in the morning. The amused author of the video said that she apologized to Poles for criticizing them for paravaning.
