Fans of the adventures of the group of heroes can rest assured about the next season. Information regarding the extension of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” for another season has been confirmed.
The good news was delivered by Ayo Davis – President of Disney Branded Television.
“We are thrilled to embark on an exciting new journey and launch season two with Rick Riordan, our fantastic partners at 20th Television, and the exceptional team of cast and creative talent who bring this story to life.”
The author of the novel series also expressed his excitement and wrote:
“I can’t wait for the next season of Percy Jackson to come to Disney+! Weigh the anchors. Raise the mainsail. All hands on deck, demigods. We’re heading into the Sea of Monsters!”
Such good information was just a formality, because “Percy Jackson” turned out to be a hit and is one of the five most popular premieres of the platform. The first episode garnered over 26 million views in its first three weeks of release.
Similarly to the first season, which was based entirely on the first volume of Rick Riordan’s novel, we can expect that the second season will refer to the novel titled “Sea of Monsters”. In the series, we will meet Percy (Walker Scobell), Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri) again. Unfortunately we won’t see it again Lance Reddick, who played the role of Zeus. The actor died in March 2023, shortly after the end of filming the first season.
Percy Jackson sets out on a dangerous mission. Evading monsters and various traps, he travels across America to find Zeus’ lightning bolt and prevent total war. On this journey he is accompanied by his new companions: Annabeth and Grover (an old friend, but in a “new version”). Will the risky mission succeed and will Percy finally learn the truth about his origins and find his place in the world?
