The heroes of the series “Rush hours” There were two policemen – a talkative and open James Carter (Chris Tucker) and a subdued inspector from Hong Kong, Lee (Jackie Chan). Despite cultural differences and different character traits, men join forces to solve criminal puzzles. The first installment of the film hit the big screen in 1998, and the premieres of the next parts took place in 2001 and 2007. The global earnings of production amounted to a total of $ 850 million.
Rumors about the fourth installment appeared in 2017. The performers of the main roles have repeatedly emphasized in conversations with the media that they would gladly return to the production plan, although more than a quarter of a century has passed since the premiere of the first edition.
Jackie Chan has recently given many interviews in connection with a return to another beloved series – “Karate Kid”. Journalists gladly take this opportunity to ask about the future of the project “Peak hours 4”. The actor does not hide that he is still interested in taking part in the continuation. However, the creators’ final decision is missing.
“I don’t know. Ask the director, ask the studio, ask the screenwriter. (…) Hurry up! Otherwise, Chris Tucker and I will be 100 years old. We will be old women playing at ‘rush hours” – he replied playfully during the interview for Screenrant.
The main problem in the creation of the fourth part of the “peak hours” is the director of previous films, Brett Ratner. In recent years he has been accused by many women of improper behavior. For this reason, Studio Warner Bros. All contacts broke with him. Film producers are trying to establish cooperation with other studies. They meet with representatives of many Hollywood labels, but as we know, Paramount, Sony and Liongate have already refused to them. The reason for general reluctance is the fear that Ratner could become the director again.
