The creators of the documentary announce that “Paweł from Ursynów” will show the full spectrum of his life and career Pezeta – both stage successes and moments of doubt that influenced his artistic path. The film is intended to recall the rapper’s beginnings in Warsaw’s Ursynów district, as well as his consistent path in building a style that has escaped labels over the years. Pezet never followed trends – he was able to combine poetic sensitivity with street honesty, maintaining authenticity regardless of commercial expectations.
The trailer that recently appeared online suggests that the documentary will not be limited only to a musical biography. It is rather a personal portrait of a man who became the voice of his generation, but also faced the pressure of popularity and fans’ expectations.
Pezet, or Paweł Kapliński, has been one of the most important creators of Polish hip-hop for over two decades. His career began in the late 1990s, when he and Onar co-founded the duo Płomień 81. It was then that he gained his first recognition on the Warsaw scene, and his lyrics began to stand out for their reflection and emotional depth.
The breakthrough was the cooperation with producer Noon, which resulted in the albums “Muzyka classic” (2002) and “Muzyka serious” (2004) – today considered milestones of Polish rap. Pezet’s poetic, intimate lyrics combined with Noon’s melancholic beats created a unique atmosphere, setting new standards for the entire genre.
In the following years, the artist constantly experimented with form – from the electronic sounds of “Music Popular” to the reflective tone of newer albums, such as “Muzyka Współczesne” or “Muzyka Popularna”. His works were often a commentary on reality – personal, but universal in message. Pezet remains faithful to honesty and introspection, and his work continues to reach new generations of listeners.
