“One Hundred Years of Solitude”: a new adaptation for Netflix. When is the premiere?

A novel published in 1967 “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is the masterpiece of Gabriel García Márquez, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1982. It is one of the most read and translated books written in Spanish.

The story tells the story of Colombian culture and explores multidimensional topics that are close to people from every corner of the world, such as loneliness, love, fate and the repetition of history.

“When creating the series, we tried to understand the difference between literary and audiovisual language and be able to create images that contain the beauty, poetry and depth of a work that has influenced the entire world. We did this with love and respect for the novel, with the support of an exceptional team” – emphasizes one of the series’ directors, Laura Mora.

Cousins José Arcadio Buendía and Úrsula Iguarán, who got married against their parents’ will, leave their village and set off on a long journey in search of a new home.
