Fifty-year-old FP comes to a seaside resort and wants to take his own life. He has a family, money and, despite this, a growing aversion to life. When he starts writing a farewell letter to his wife, the ghost of his father, who also took his own life, appears. He tries to dissuade his son from doing the same.
“Notes of a Mortal” is a new film by the renowned director Maciej Żak (“Convoy”), who is also the author of the script. An original story of a mature man who has achieved success and seemingly has everything, but still does not feel fulfilled. A non-obvious story about life and death that intrigues and surprises, leaving no one indifferent.
The main roles are: Ireneusz Czop (“Broad Peak”), Magdalena Boczarska (“Little Rose”), Magdalena Popławska (“Panic Attack”), Marian Dziędziel (“The Wedding”), Agata Turkot (“Good House”), Paweł Tomaszewski (“The Baptism”).
“This topic has long fascinated me as one of the most serious and fundamental issues of human existence. I wanted to tell the story of a mature man who, with full awareness, decides to end his life, but fate predicts a different scenario for him,” emphasizes Maciej Żak.
“From a philosophical point of view, it is an act of freedom – a moment when a person can make an absolutely autonomous decision. However, it is also a problem of enormous social importance that is slowly coming to light. Just look at the statistics that show that it is men who most often decide to take this final step,” adds the director.
The world premiere of the drama “Notes of a Mortal Man” took place at the Warsaw Film Festival, where the film was very well received.
