Norbi is best known for his hit song “Women are hot” – this song did not leave radio playlists in 1997. The album it came from, that is “Samertajm” received the Fryderyk award for “Dance Album of the Year”, but also fought for the extremely prestigious statuette for “Phonographic Debut of the Year”.
In recent years, its creator has been less known for new hits and more for his presence in TVP programs. He drove for a while “What’s the melody?”, but later he switched roles with Rafał Brzozowski, who took his place. Norbie was given a popular show “The wheel of fortune”which he has hosted continuously for the past 5 years.
It seems that after the December changes at TVP, the artist will also say goodbye to the station. As he said in an interview with “Fakt”, no one will throw him out because his contract is not structured this way, but he may never appear as a show host again. “I can’t be thrown out of television because I wasn’t under any contract there. If you throw someone out, you first have to hire him. I wasn’t under any contract, mandate or contract, anything,” he said.
According to the latest reports, it has already been decided that Norbi will disappear from TVP2. He is to take his place on the “Wheel of Fortune”. Robert El Gendy – well known to viewers of the public broadcaster’s programs. How did the 51-year-old musician comment on this information? “We have known Robert El Gendy for years. First of all, he is my friend from Olsztyn from our youth. We worked together in the local media. I worked on the radio, he on television,” he recalls.
Norbi wishes El Gendy good luck and believes that his former colleague will do great in this role. “I applaud you, congratulate you and wish you all the best. I think it’s a good choice. This is a person who has worked and works on television, looks good, speaks well. He’s an intelligent boy,” continues the performer of the immortal “Women are hot.”
Is Norbi afraid that he will have to tighten his belt because of his dismissal? As he said in an interview with “Super Express”, working on television was just an addition for him, so he is not expecting any major changes. “I’m not interested in it, because I took up the stage as I always did, which is why I have a nice situation in that I’ve always made my living from concerts, and that’s how it was and still is. “Wheel of Fortune” was a nice addition to my career” – says.
