Nicki Minaj arrested at the airport in Amsterdam. Manchester concert canceled

A concert was to be held on May 25 at Co-Op Live in Manchester Nicki Minaj as part of the “Pink Friday 2 World Tour”. However, this performance was canceled at the last minute due to the fact that the American star spent several hours in custody in Amsterdam.

The local police announced that the rapper was detained on suspicion of exporting illegal substances. After explaining the case and paying the fine, Minaj was released from custody after a few hours.

According to information published on social media, the plane on which the rapper was traveling was still in Amsterdam when the concert in Manchester was canceled. The organizers of the show hoped until the last minute that Minaj would be able to make it. 20,000 fans were allowed into the hall from 19. Meanwhile, approx. 21:30 (then the star was supposed to go on stage), it was announced that the concert had been canceled. The reaction was shrill whistles. Disappointed fans from all over the world (including Poles who went especially to Manchester to see their idol) quickly expressed their reactions.

For now, it is not known whether the performance in Manchester will be moved to another date or canceled altogether. Nicki Minaj is scheduled to appear in Birmingham on May 26. After several concerts in Great Britain, the rapper is to move to continental Europe, and on June 8 she will be one of the stars Orange Warsaw Festival.

Over the course of several years of activity, the rapper has won several hundred awards, including: nine American Music Awards, eight MTV Video Music Awards, five Billboard Music Awards, and one BRIT. Minaj was nominated for a Grammy 11 times, but never won any.

In 2019, Minaj announced that she intended to end her career and focus on family life. Shortly later, she clarified her own comment and claimed it had been misread. In October 2020, the star's first child was born.
