Neil Blomkamp he doesn’t give up and even though many of his ideas haven’t been realized, for various reasons (a new film in the “Alien” series, a sequel to “District 9”, “RoboCop”), he keeps trying with new productions. He’s also not discouraged by mixed or even negative reviews, as was the case with the premiere of the film “Chappie” in 2015.
This time, “Alpha” is supposed to appear on the horizon. The plot will focus on a prisoner sentenced to death who becomes the subject of a government experiment. As a result of the experiments, he transforms into a predator, hunted by the FBI.
The role of the FBI agent will be played by Aaron Paul – actor known primarily from the series “Breaking Bad”, the films “Fathers and Daughters”, “Fallen Science”, and one of the episodes of “Black Mirror”. Details of the plot of “Alpha” are not yet known.
Sony gave the green light to Blomkamp’s new idea likely after the success of “Gran Turismo,” which grossed $122 million worldwide and came at the perfect time to save the director’s career.
“Alpha” also has a chance to become a springboard to the top, because with Blomkamp’s experience in the world of dystopian stories we can get a really successful production that will keep us in suspense.
